first off, sorry to all of you who are still checking this spot and haven't had anything new to read in a month. I do plan to keep blogging here, I just haven't been on the computer very much at all in the past while.

Danica is doing great. She's growing like a weed, and is so much more alert and sociable now. Her smiles are great, especially at the end of those middle-of-the-night feeds, it makes it all worthwhile. She has become quite attached to her soother, but hey, she puts herself to sleep if she has it, so i'm good with that! And it's better than trying to break a thumb-sucking habit later, which is what she's started doing if the soother isn't there.

Mommyhood is still enjoyable. Last week was rough, Danica was crying & crying and was pretty inconsolable, i figured out it was either caffeine, tomato sauce, or pepperoni on my part that was bugging her, i have cut those out and she's doing fine. I know milk is a likely culprit a lot of the time for fussy babies, but i'm still on milk products and she's back to her normal happy self.

I will post new pictures when i have some, seems like i've been pretty slack in taking pictures as of late, except when there are "occasions" such as visitors (my best friend Lynne & her 9-mo old boy came to visit last week, we have some cute ones of the two of them) or this upcoming holiday, and with not being on the computer i haven't uploaded any recently to post here.

the hardest part so far

perhaps a mis-quoted Kenny Rogers says it best...

On a warm summers evenin, in a house, going nowhere
I became the gambler; we were both too tired to sleep.
So I spent time, a starin' out the window at the darkness
til desperation overtook me, and the voices began to speak.

They said mom, We've made a life out of readin babies' faces,
And knowin what their cards were by the way they hold their eyes.
So if you don't mind us sayin, we can see you're out of aces.
Since you can't give her some whiskey, we'll give you some advice.

Ya gotta know when to hold 'em, Know how to fold 'em (the blankets, that is)
Know when to walk away and Know when to run
You never count on sleeping when you're still rocking the cradle
You just might get time for sleeping when the fussin's done.

Now evry momma knows that the secret to survivin'
Is that the nights don't last forever, and knowing she's for keeps.
cause evry babe's so precious, despite all of their cryin'
But you'll still hold to the hope that one day you'll get some sleep.
